Through the Lens of Compassion

Placing compassion in dialogue with political polarization, armed conflict, climate change, and activism

Dear friends,

I’m excited to announce Through the Lens of Compassion, a conference organized by The Center for Compassion and Creativity (where i’m on the board) and The Albert Schwiezer Institute. Last year’s conference at Quinnipiac University was a huge success, so we’re going big this year by digging into challenging world issues.

Each panel consists of Quinnipiac professors in dialogue with Buddhist teachers, music performances, and practical compassion practices. Panelists will not be given the questions ahead of time, so expect lively, spontaneous discussion! Each panel will open and close with compassion practices led by Megan Mook. Megan will also be on the Activism Panel.

We’re honored to have Scarlett Lewis as our Keynote. Scarlett Lewis is an American activist, educator, and author who founded the non-profit Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement after her son Jesse was murdered during the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

This a free conference. You are welcome to attend in person for an interactive experience or on Zoom.
